On Tuesday, Zaman Park became a battleground between workers of Pakistan Tehreek-I-Insaf and Islamabad police as security forces wanted to arrest Imran Khan. The police used water cannons and tear gas to control the protestors, but the situation kept on getting worse. The clash between police and PTI continued till night and resulted in nationwide protests. The international media also reported on the protests that shook Zaman Park.

Imran Khan calls to fight for Haqeeqi Azadi
Imran gave a video message through his Twitter account and asked his supporters to fight for Haqeeqi Azadi and stand for law.

The PTI chairperson conveyed the message that if something happened to him and he was killed, then the nation would not accept the slavery of thieves.
Similarly, PTI leaders called on the nation to stand up for Imran. Chaudhry Fawad Hussain directed the people to stand up for the PTI leader. He added that PTI organisations should make sure that protests remain peaceful. PTI called the government’s attempt to arrest Imran a fascist move. Farrukh Habib stated that it was a deliberate attempt to compromise Khan’s security.

Government not backing down
The federal government did not show any intention to back off and want to arrest Imran Khan at all costs. Interior Minister Ranasanullah said that they are attempting to arrest a person who ran away from the court.

PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz said that if any police officer got injured or hurt in the protest then PTI and Imran Khan will be responsible for it.

Note that Yesterday, Monday, March 13, a non-bailable arrest warrant was issued for Imran Khan in the case of threatening the female judge. In the Tosha Khana case, Imran Khan’s requests for immunity from attendance were rejected. The court ordered to arrest of Imran and present him to the court.
