The Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-F) leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that the Pakistan Democratic Movement would oust the government through the long march and a no-confidence motion and the days of the government were numbered.
It is no surprise that this statement is coming at a point in time when the inflation is at an all-time high largely due to the economic policies of the government especially in lieu of its decision to increase petrol prices by Rs. 12 per litre. It is known that a rise in petrol prices invariably affects the entire economy of the nation as goods and services get hit by hyperinflation due to the rising cost of logistics as well as increased prices generally.
Maulana was speaking at the Akhunzada Mohammad Siddique conference at Jahazo ground in Hangu. He said that the shift of the PTI voters to JUI-F indicated that the people had had enough of the government’s policies, adding that the government had lost the trust of the world leaders making it hard for it to secure foreign loans.
He also took a jibe at the Chairman FBR and Governor SBP, stating that the government could only provide the two gentlemen with jobs instead of the promised 1 million jobs. Maulana also accused the government of selling Kashmir just to prolong its tenure at the whims of its ‘masters’.
