ISLAMABAD: President Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi has tested positive for Covid-19 for the second time in as many years. He had previously tested positive for the virus last year in March.
Dr Alvi took to Twitter to announce that he had tested positive. He asked the fellow countrymen to “resume precautions & follow SOPs”. According to Dr Alvi, he had sore throat for the past one week and felt “mildly feverish for a few hours”.
Coincidentally, Dr Alvi tested positive on the same day the country reported its highest number of cases since October. The country’s test positivity ratio has shot up to over 2 per cent.
