ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has urged the nation to stop the alarming growth of the cases of HIV and AIDS in Pakistan by getting timely testing done. He took to Twitter to say: “I urge Ministry of Health to focus on awareness about testing, prevention & treatment to fight scourge.”
Pakistan is currently battling one of the worst waves of HIV and AIDS with the number of confirmed cases rising significantly with each passing day. According to several media reports, sharing of needles and homosexual intercourse are some of the leading causes of the HIV spreading like wildfire.
The increasing incidence of HIV & Aids among the children & adolescents is deeply worrying. I urge Ministry of Health to focus on awareness about testing, prevention & treatment to fight scourge. On World Aids Day today, let us all vow to end the stigma attached with HIV.
