The International Conference on Climate Resilient Pakistan will take place today (Monday, January 9, 2023) in Geneva. More than 40 countries, including Qatar, UAE, Malaysia, Turkey, Kuwait and China, will participate in the conference. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will jointly host the conference.
The delegation led by the Prime Minister, including Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Climate Change Minister Sherry Rehman and Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, reached Switzerland to host the conference.
PM Shehbaz Sharif tweeted that they would get an opportunity to present the case of flood victims to the world. He added that participants would also be informed regarding measures taken by the federal government for the relief and rehabilitation of flood victims. He further said a comprehensive plan regarding rehabilitation, construction and recovery after the flood disaster will be presented.
During the day-long conference, the 4RF plan work will be launched, which entails Resilient Recovery, Rehabilitation, and Reconstruction Framework.
Leaving for Geneva today to co-host International Conference on Resilient Pakistan along with UN Secretary General. Will take the opportunity to present the case of flood victims before the world. I will also throw light on steps my govt has taken for relief & rehabilitation. 1/3
