ISLAMABAD: The federal government has called a joint sitting of parliament tomorrow to get the much debated bill of using the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) in the upcoming elections, passed.
Prime Minister Imran Khan also held a meeting on Monday with coalition partners MQM-P, and PML-Q, who had announced yesterday to go separate ways, seeking their support in the parliament. However, it is reported that both have expressed concerns and are reluctant to support the government on the bills, leaving the government confused.
However, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry claims that both parties have expressed their willingness to support the government on the bills. Chaudhry said that the reservations of the allies had been addressed which is why the government was calling for a joint sitting of the parliamentarians on Wednesday.
According to Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, the allies will support the government on all the bills proposed by it in the meeting tomorrow.
