ISLAMABAD: On Wednesday, the federal government decided to keep the petroleum rates unchanged for the next 15 days. Despite the fact that oil prices have declined in the global market, the government has shown no sign of reducing petroleum prices.
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar only announced a reduction in kerosene and light diesel prices. Kerosene oil and light diesel prices have been slashed by Rs10 & Rs7, respectively.
Meanwhile, Russia has turned down Pakistan’s request to provide a 30-40 per cent discount on crude oil. The request was forwarded by Petroleum Minister Musadik Malik and officials of the Pakistan Embassy in Moscow.
