KARACHI: Ali Sethi and Shae Gill’s smash hit ‘Pasoori’ has been remade for a Bollywood movie, sung by the maestro across the border, Arijit Singh; however, this has left the music fans as divided and apart as the countries themselves with the remake titles ‘Pasoori Nu’ igniting debate on social platforms.
Pasoori, a Pakistani pop song which was released by Coke Studio last year became a smashing hit not only among the neighbouring nations, but also across the globe.
The song has been recreated and released for upcoming Bollywood movie Satyaprem Ki Katha starring Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani. The movie is set to release on June 28 but the teaser for the movie was shared three weeks and the song on Monday, which obviously had Pakistanis raging.
Its remake for a Bollywood movie is proving to be reason enough for Twitter to be utterly furious. Netizens took to Twitter and social platforms to express their disappointment in Bollywood’s inability to produce original songs.
