ISLAMABAD: The Finance Minister of Pakistan Ishaq Dar, during a meeting with the Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs Ramin Toloui, and Assistant Secretary for the South and Central Asia Bureau of the State Department Donald Lu, has conveyed that Pakistan would buy oil from Russia on more favourable terms in comparison to India.
After returning from Washington, Dar briefed that Pakistan had informed the United States that they would import oil from Russia as India was also benefiting from the Russian oil. He added that they would not make a deal if the terms were less favourable than India’s. Currently, India is the second-largest importer of Russian oil after China.
While talking about the International Monetary Funds, he stated that Pakistan would not ask for any relief. Dar further added that they would not beg for aid from other countries for the flood victims. Dar once again claimed that the rupee would reach its real value of below Rs200 following the inflation-adjusted formula against the US dollar.
