ISLAMABAD: During the last 24 hours, Pakistan recorded the highest number of deaths in a single day since October 4 as 48 people died due to coronavirus.
According to National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), 64,121 tests were conducted, which resulted in 6,377 positive cases. The positivity ratio was recorded at 9.9 per cent. Punjab and Sindh reported the most number of cases.
Punjab reported 2,031 cases and 18 deaths, while Sindh reported 1,779 cases along with 20 deaths. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa recorded 1,258 Covid-19 cases and eight casualties while the federal capital reported 615 cases and one death. Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Balochistan reported 694 new patients and one fatality.
Currently, 1618 patients are under critical care. The NCOC tweeted that so far 180,598,815 people have been vaccinated against the deadly virus.
