A day after the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi claimed at a public rally in Gujarat that he had resolved the longstanding Kashmir dispute, Pakistan reacted strongly to his claims and outrightly rejected any such claims.
According to a statement released by the Foreign Office, the Indian prime minister’s claims were not only misleading and false, but it also showed how the Indian leadership was aware of the situation in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu Kashmir (IIOJK).
The FO reiterated that the Jammu & Kashmir has remained a disputed territory even in the eyes of the United Nations since 1948. It further added that India was guilty of severe human rights violation in the territory and is yet to act on its commitment of holding a free and fair plebiscite in the valley to decide its status.
