DHAKA: Same ground, same teams, same toss, same result. It looked like Pakistan started off the day’s proceedings from where they left them against Bangladesh yesterday. Pakistan crushed Bangladesh in the second T20I to clinch a comfortable series win.
Bangladesh, who had not been beaten at home in T20Is in the last three years, were battered and bruised by Pakistan to register their first series loss since 2018. Bangladesh chose to bat first after winning the toss only for their batters to bow down in front of Pakistan bowlers.
Pakistan one-upped their performance from yesterday and did not even allow Bangladesh to cross 120. Bangladesh started off poorly and just could not recover against a solid Pakistani bowling line up. All bowlers but Shoaib Malik chipped in with contribution, restricting Bangladesh to 108 for the loss of seven wickets in their 20 overs.
Pakistan, in reply, were started confidently and even after losing Babar Azam early on in the chase, did not bog down and chased down the target with ease, thanks to Fakhar Zaman’s not out 57 off 51 balls.
With the win, Pakistan have gone 0-2 up in the series. The third match of the series will be played on Monday.
