ABU DHABI: Pakistan and Namibia will clash at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium at 7:00pm (PST) today. Pakistan are in a phenomenal form, holding the top spot of the table in Group 2 with three wins.
If Pakistan win today, they will officially become the second team to qualify for the semifinal. Namibia, who started their campaign with an emphatic four-wicket win over Scotland, suffered a 62-run defeat against Afghanistan.
Pakistan star all-rounder and veteran cricketer Shoaib Malik said yesterday that consecutive wins had boosted the morale of the team but they did not want to take Namibia for granted.
“To be honest, we are not thinking any different because T20 format is where you can’t take the opposition lightly.”
This will be the first T20I match between Namibia and Pakistan. The two sides last met each other in the 50-over 2003 edition of the ICC Cricket World Cup.
