ISLAMABAD: TikTok has become the talk of the town, as it claims to have removed over nine million videos on Thursday. The decision was made by the TikTok authorities over the violation of its community guidelines during the second quarter of 2021. Despite the on-and-off ban on TikTok in Pakistan, the country ranked second for removal of inappropriate content from its platform.
The popular social media app is currently blocked by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority for allegedly not following the guidelines on inappropriate content. However, according to the reports presented by TikTok, it has globally removed 81 million videos that were in violation of its guidelines.
