Three additional charges have been brought against suspects involved in the gang rape and murder of a minor girl in Karachi. Judicial Magistrate (South) Zahid Ali granted a five-day extension in the suspects’ police custody following the inclusion of new sections of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) related to abduction, child rape, and concealment of evidence.
The investigation officer (IO), Shama, informed the court that the charges were added on the state prosecutor’s instruction and that further custody was necessary to apprehend another suspect and recover key evidence.
The victim, a 12-year-old girl, was abducted from her home and later found dead at a garbage dump near Lucky Star.
The case has garnered significant attention, with authorities under pressure to ensure justice for the victim and her family. The suspects are expected to be presented at the next hearing as the investigation continues.
