ISLAMABAD: On Friday, a nationwide vaccination campaign was launched by the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC), in which the transportation sector will be inspected and vaccinated at the spot.
The campaign will continue till December 18. It will be a joint campaign in which all the federating units will participate.
Authorities will inspect busses on all exit and entrance points, inter-city and also on the provincial borders, highways, and motorways. A mobile vaccination centre will vaccinate any vehicle staff and passengers who are still unvaccinated; any citizen with a medical reason will be exempted.
According to NCOC, the teams inspected 3,793 people on December 8, during which they vaccinated people of 46 vehicles. The centre has also issued the last 24 hours stats of the Covid-19 situation in the country. A total of 42,978 tests were conducted resulting in 313 positive cases.
The positivity ratio was recorded at 0.72 per cent while nine patients died due to Covid, and 758 are in critical care.
