ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Energy has presented the Gas Load Management Plan to the Cabinet Committee on Energy for the winter season of 2021-22. According to the plan, the residents will be given LNG supply thrice a day, only for cooking purposes.
The total gas shortfall is expected to be 22mmcfd (million cubic feet per day) in the upcoming month and will rise in January to 137mmcfd. The condition is expected to stabilise in February and March as the deficit is expected to come down to 75mmcfd.
The supply to the power and fertiliser sector will not be disturbed and remain at 1,200mmcfd. Cabinet Committee on Energy has asked for a detailed impact report in the next meeting regarding different policies for the gas management plan during the winter season.
