In a significant gathering, Pakistan’s top military officials, led by Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, convened for the 264th Corps Commanders’ Conference (CCC) at the General Headquarters (GHQ). The conference aimed to address critical security concerns, particularly the escalating threat posed by terrorist factions operating from Afghanistan, which not only endanger Pakistan’s security but also regional and global stability.
During the conference, as reported by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), strong condemnation was voiced regarding recent attacks targeting Chinese nationals in Besham and the brutal killings of civilians in Balochistan. The sacrifices made by martyrs, including armed forces personnel and civilians, were acknowledged, underscoring their unwavering commitment to achieving peace and stability within the nation.
General Munir commended the relentless efforts of the Pakistan Army and law enforcement agencies (LEAs) in thwarting terrorist plots and neutralising key terrorist figures. He emphasised the imperative of eradicating any space for terrorist activities and reiterated the nation’s resolve to combat terrorism.
The conference also addressed regional challenges, expressing concern over India’s aggressive actions in the Illegally Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) region. Pakistan reaffirmed its unwavering support for the Kashmiri people, while also expressing solidarity with the people of Palestine, condemning the ongoing human rights violations in Gaza.
Furthermore, the conference emphasised the urgency of de-escalating tensions in the Middle East to prevent further instability and regional conflict. It also denounced malicious propaganda aimed at undermining the morale of the armed forces, reaffirming that baseless allegations against law enforcement agencies and security forces would not succeed.
Commitment was reiterated to supporting the government’s efforts in achieving sustainable socioeconomic progress, including combating illegal activities such as smuggling and hoarding. General Munir directed field commanders to maintain the highest standards of operational readiness and morale within their units, emphasising the importance of continuous training and professional excellence.
