CHITTAGONG: The game hangs in balance as the hosts Bangladesh find themselves in a bit bothersome position after losing four wickets against just 39 runs on the board. They would, however, be thanking their stars for Pakistan made the mess of the solid start they got yesterday.
Pakistan started off the day with 145/0 at the scoreboard. However, they could not rattle the hosts and lost their way as they kept losing wickets and eventually got bowled for 286, conceding a 44-run lead to Bangladesh. It could have been much worse for the visitors, who had collapsed against the left-arm Taijul Islam who bowled beautifully for his 116/7.
Bangladesh, in reply, however did not look comfortable against Shaheen Afridi and Hasan Ali who kept troubling the host batters. On a surface where the ball is keeping low, turning, and kicking off on odd occasions, Bangladesh did well by restricting Pakistan to a sub-par score.
They would now be hoping to stretch the lead to 150 to give Pakistan a real scare. At the end of Day 3, there is hardly anything that separate the two teams.
