In the wee hours of Monday, Sialkot police reported that Imran Riaz Khan was recovered and reached his home safely after being missing for around four to five months. On May 11, 2023, Imran was arrested under 3MPO from the Sialkot Airport. His arrest was associated with the May 9 protests that occurred after the arrest of PTI chairman Imran Khan.
Sialkot police, in their post on X, stated:
“Journalist/anchor Mr Imran Riaz Khan has been safely recovered. He is now with his family.”

The Lahore High Court (LHC), in the 6 September hearing, gave a 13-day ultimatum to the IG Punjab to recover anchorperson Imran Riaz. Chief Justice Ameer Bhatti heard a petition filed by father of the missing journalist. IG Punjab Usman Anwar vowed that police would provide good news within 10 to 15 days. Imran is known as a Pro PTI and also served jail on July 5, 2022, on charges of treason.
