KARACHI: The release of the upcoming Pakistani movie ‘Javed Iqbal: The Untold Story of a Serial Killer’ has been postponed just three days prior to the theatrical release.
The film will now release in January 2022.
The movie is based on the real-life character Javed Iqbal who murdered more than 100 young boys. Ayesha Omar and Yasir Hussain are in the lead roles. The release date has been pushed back because of the Hollywood superhero movie, Spider-Man: No Way Home.
According to the team, the Marvel film is doing good business in theatres, and The Matrix Resurrections is set to release in two-three days. They said that ‘Javed Iqbal: The Untold Story of a Serial Killer’ will not get the screens it deserves, which might create an unfavourable situation for the movie. The lead actress Omar hailed the decision through her Instagram handle.
The project is produced by Javed Ahmed Kakepoto and written and directed by Abu Aleeha.
