Meta-owned social media platform Instagram has now introduced a new feature for its users. The platform is popular for its ‘heart reaction’ to posts and has now introduced the same option in its ‘Instagram Stories’ as well.
The feature is known as ‘Private Story Likes’ and will enable a viewer to like an Insta Story. The highlight of the feature is that it does not send a private message to the person who has posted the story unlike the previous option, which sends an emoji reaction in a Direct Message.
Head of Instagram Adam Mosseri announced the new update through his Twitter handle. In a video message, he has explained how the option would work.
❤️ Private Story Likes ❤️
Starting to roll out today, you can now send some love by liking people’s stories without sending a DM.
Likes on stories are private and do not have counts. Rather, they appear as hearts next to people’s handles in your Stories view sheet. 🙏🏼 pic.twitter.com/l56Rmzgnnw

It should be kept in mind that ‘Story Likes’ would not appear as a count, but the names of people who liked it will be shown in a separate view sheet with a heart next to their name.
