ISLAMABAD: The Indian delegation for the Indus Water Commission has arrived in Lahore on Monday for a meeting with the officials concerned of Pakistan. The delegation comprises 10 members, including Pradeep Kumar Saxena, the Commissioner of Indian Water and head of the delegation.
During the visit, India and Pakistan will hold meetings from March 1 to 3 to resolve the issues over the water dispute and discuss future hydro projects. All meetings are scheduled in Islamabad, where the annual meeting for the Permanent Indus Commission will also take place.
The prime objective of the talks would be to discuss the objections of Pakistan on the Kiru, Lower Kalnai, Chenab Basin, and Paka Dul projects.
The last Pak-India Permanent Indus Commission meeting was held in March 2021, where Pakistan raised objections on different water projects and asked for water flow data.
