ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has filed a petition against the ruling of the Supreme Court on April 23 to overturn the decision of the Speaker National Assembly, which resulted in the no-confidence vote.
According to the application of Khan, Article 248 does not allow any institution to intervene in the proceedings of the Parliament. It added that rejecting the no-confidence motion was in accordance with Article 5.
On April 3, Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial sentenced the ruling of the speaker as contrary to the Constitution stating that it had no legal ground. The decision by the chief justice paved way for the no-confidence vote.
