On Sunday, while addressing a public gathering in Taxila, Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-I-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan firmly stood by his stance regarding cypher. He said that copies of the cypher were sent to the National Security Committee (NSC), National Assembly, chief justice, and president of Pakistan.
Khan added that the current government called the cypher a lie. He pointed out that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had brought the cypher in the limelight again. Khan challenged the government to arrest him as he was ready to face imprisonment for the nation.
Meanwhile, the federal government has decided to initiate legal action against Khan, his fellow party leaders, and Azam Khan who are connected to audio leaks in which former rulers discussed how to use the cypher to their advantage.
A committee was formed on Friday to recommend actions regarding Cypher No. I-0678 dated March 7, 2022 (Annex-I), sent by Parep Washington. The committee has termed the issue as a matter of national security and directed the Federal Investigation Agency to initiate an inquiry.
