After repeated failed attempts to secure bail, PTI leader Shahbaz Gill has secured bail today from the Islamabad High Court (IHC) in the sedition case. Shahbaz was arrested for inciting mutiny in the Pakistan Army with his comments on a television show.
Gill was in detention for over one month. He applied for bail earlier on Friday. During the hearing, Chief Justice Athar Minallah commented that though the statements from Shahbaz Gill were irresponsible and cannot be justified, they do not fall under sedition. He added that nowadays, political parties use sedition charges for fun. Athar Minallah accepted the plea of Shahbaz Gill for a post-arrest bail.
