Balochistan once again faces a disastrous situation as the torrential rains have once again wreaked havoc across the province. DC Kuchi Samiullah Agha briefed that due to flooding in the Bolan river, the bridge that led to connecting road between Balochistan and Sindh was swept away by the flood. Meanwhile, the media reported that a wall collapsed due to rain in Zhob which injured a child.
Streets in Quetta were flooded due to heavy rain. A similar situation also occurred in Dera Bugti, Nushki and Chaman. The low-lying areas are facing the effects of wavy rainfall in Balochistan. In Kohlu, a village came under a flood. The flooding situation of Lasezai & Nakara rivers caused the closure of the Kohlu DG Khan highway.
According to the Meteorological Department, the highest amount of rain was recorded in Chaman 29mm, Gwadar 17mm, Quetta 13mm, Pashin 12mm, Zhob 10mm, Panjgur 9mm, Lasbela 5mm, Khuzdar 4mm and Turbat 2mm during the past 24 hours.
Karachi Weather:
As per the forecast by the Met Office on Wednesday, different areas of Karachi received light rainfall in the evening or at night on Wednesday.
The weather remained partly cloudy during the past 24 hours.
The maximum temperature in the port city fluctuated between 31 to 33 degrees Celsius. Humidity in the air remained at 76 per cent, while the speed of winds blowing from the west touched 14 kilometres per hour.
