ISLAMABAD: Around 695,655 applications were rejected under the prime minister’s ‘Kamyab Jawan’ programme on Sunday. Reports suggest that 1,237,997 applications were received which included 1,038,000 by men, 199,240 by women, and 314 by members of the transgender community.
Of 21,000 eligible youngsters, 16,274 applicants got loans worth Rs.22 billion, whereas 520,000 applications are awaiting approval. The programme has enabled around 33,000 young entrepreneurs to establish businesses. Punjab submitted 945,000 applications making it the province with the highest number of applicants. Sindh submitted around 139,886 applications, whereas 11390 applied from Balochistan. Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan submitted 15,962 and 10,963 applications respectively.
