Lahore: Jahangir Khan Tareen, who once helped Imran Khan to form the federal government, is now on the road to compiling a new political party. In this regard, he made substantial progress on Wednesday and welcomed several political personalities who left PTI after May 9 events to his group. Media reports suggest that the name of new party would be ‘Istehkam-I-Pakistan Party’.
In an informal gathering, Jahangir Khan Tareen met his potential team, which includes big names of PTI like Fayyazul Hassan Chohan, Fawad Chaudhry, Firdous Ashiq Awan, Amir Kiyani, Ali Zaidi, Imran Ismail, Mahmood Maulvi, Ajmal Wazir, and Nauraiz Shakoor.

Seems like all the politicians who left PTI and said they were on a break are now deciding to ‘make a change’ in their political careers. Murad Raas, former minister from Punjab, claimed that around three dozen ex-lawmakers have sided with Jahangir Khan Tareen group on the promise of receiving good positions.
Sources said that business tycoon Aleem Khan would be party president while Tareen would hold the position of party Quaid. It is also believed that Istehkam-I-Pakistan Party would play an important role in the politics of Punjab and attain notable spots in the upcoming general elections. Several deserted PTI members from the South are already members of new group.

Meanwhile, several PTI members from South Punjab have joined Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). It is believed that former president of Pakistan Asif Alli Zardari is forecasting bright chances of Bilawal Bhutto bagging the Prime Minister spot and for that, he would need good support from South Punjab.
Hence the new developments in Punjab would bring PPP and IPP against each other. PPP is trying all fronts to strengthen itself so it can leverage from the void created after PTI got fractured amid May 9 events.
