A fire that erupted at the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) building on Monday was swiftly brought under control by rescue teams, according to Sindh Rescue 1122 spokesperson Hassaan Khan. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported.
The fire started on the fourth floor of the iconic building, prompting an immediate response from Rescue 1122’s Central Command and Control. Two fire brigade trucks were initially dispatched to the scene to tackle the blaze. Additional resources, including a snorkel and six fire brigades, were mobilised to ensure the fire was fully extinguished.
Rescue operations were efficient and well-coordinated, with officials currently engaged in the cooling process to prevent any resurgence of flames. The swift action and preparedness of the rescue teams have been crucial in mitigating potential damage and ensuring the safety of all individuals within the building.
Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the fire, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available. The PSX building, a critical hub for Pakistan’s financial activities, is expected to resume normal operations following the completion of safety inspections and necessary repairs.
