ISLAMABAD: Hours after Monday’s meeting of the Judicial Commission of Pakistan, a late-hour development took place in the federal government body as Azam Nazeer Tarar, Federal Law Minister, resigned from his post.
His resignation came after the ‘anti-establishment’ slogans were raised at the Asma Jahangir Conference. Tarar was the chief guest at the Asma Jahangir Conference. It should be noted that his resignation is yet to be accepted.
According to news reports, Tarar was also facing immense pressure for siding with some junior judges, which includes Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial. These judges got senior posts in the Supreme Court, which may have disturbed several entities.
