LOS ANGELES: The musical animated movie Encanto, by Disney, became the top grosser in the North-America’s box office with a business of $27 million during the weekend.
The story revolves around a family that has special powers and resides in the mountains. The music is given by Lin-Manuel Miranda while John Leguizamo, Stephanie Beatriz, and Diane Guerrero are in the main lead.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife stood second in the race with a business of $24.5 million followed by House of Gucci crossing $14.2 million. Star-studded movie Eternals by Disney/Marvel ranked fourth with a weekend business of $7.9 million, the cast includes Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Salma Hayek, and Gemma Chan.
Sony and Screen Gems’ Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, which was an adaption from the video game, collected $5.3 million in the box office and claimed the fifth spot.
