Zalmi Foundation, Dukhtar Pakistan, and Rawalpindi Women’s University organised the Zalmi Women’s Cricket Camp and Trials in Islamabad where former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif took the trials. More than three hundred women cricketers participated in the trials and camp where 20 women cricketers were selected.
Rashid Latif said that the services of Peshawar Zalmi and Zalmi Foundation for the promotion of cricket are noteworthy as Pakistan women’s cricket will get new talent from the Zalmi women’s cricket camp and trials.
Speaker Balochistan Assembly Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani was present on this occasion. Special guest National Commission for Women Status Nilofar Bakhtiar and Vice-Chancellor Dr Anila Qamar expressed happiness at Zalmi Cricket Camp.
Chairman of Zalmi Foundation Mr Javed Afridi said that Zalmi Foundation has always strived to support women in sports as Zalmi Foundation believes in empowering women through sports and providing them equal opportunities. He further said that they would continue supporting the daughters of Pakistan and make them realise their actual role in the field of sports.
