KARACHI: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) released a press release here on Tuesday which said that the local government elections in the metropolitan had been postponed third time at the request of the Sindh Government.
Sindh Government has cited several reasons for the postponement of the local government elections ever since they were announced. The Sindh Government had sought the postponement in seven districts of Karachi – which were originally scheduled to be held on October 23.
Sindh Government has attributed the shortage of approximately 16,000 police personnel for security at polling stations as the reason of postponement of the local government elections.
