An earthquake of 5.8 magnitude on the Richter Scale struck parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Friday. Different cities of KP were affected due to the earthquake.
According to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre (NSMC), the earthquake hit Hazara, Mansehra, Battagram, Malakan, and Mingora. The panic caused many people to come out of their homes.
The earthquake had a depth of 226 kilometres with the Afghan-Tajik border being its epicentre. Earlier, Swat was hit by an earthquake of 4.2 magnitude on December 24. It was also felt in different cities of KP.
