CALIFORNIA: The popular video streaming app YouTube has decided to make the dislike button private, and only the content creator can view the number of dislikes on the video.
The decision was taken on multiple complaints by new content creators, as they complained of biased behaviour from certain users who spammed their content with dislikes without any particular reason. YouTube has admitted that certain type of behaviour does exist against young and new video content creators.
Users, however, can use the dislike option and send their feedback to creators. According to YouTube officials, the step is taken to ensure a respectful and progressive environment for content creators.
