ISLAMABAD: The uptick in Covid positive cases in Pakistan is quickly turning into surge as the country continues to witness an upward trend in the number of confirmed coronavirus cases. According to the latest numbers shared by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), 898 cases were reported in the last 24 hours.
Sindh reported the highest number of cases yet again with 483, followed by Punjab with 310, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 39, Balochistan with five, Islamabad with 57, and Azad and Jammu Kashmir with four. Gilgit-Baltistan did not report any case in the last 24 hours.
Five deaths were reported across the country, two each in Sindh and KP and one in Punjab. The test positivity ratio has climbed to 1.8 per cent. Meanwhile, as per the NCOC’s official announcement, 32pc of the country stands vaccinated against Covid-19.
