On Wednesday, Commissioner Karachi Muhammad Iqbal took action against the surging price of milk and issued the notification that the per litre rate of milk would be Rs170. The decision was announced after the commissioner had a meeting with the stakeholders.
The dairy farmer association has rejected the new prices and continues to sell the milk at Rs200 per litre. The administration detained several supplying vehicles and carried out a crackdown against the vendors who are selling the milk at elevated rates.
