Karachi: Despite the bright chances that Biparjoy won’t hit Karachi & Balochistan, the level of its intensity will be intact when it strikes the coastal areas of Sindh on June 15.
Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has said that around 32,466 residents of Thatta, Badin, and Sujawal are vulnerable to the storm. Pakistan Meteorological Department (PDM) said that the cyclonic storm has moved towards the northwest from Karachi. The department added that Biparjoy would hit Kutch – Indian Gujrat and lower-lying areas of Sindh.
Districts including Sujawal, Thatta, Badin, Mirpurkhas, Tharparkar and Umerkot would experience dust storms, high winds, thunderstorms and extreme rainfall.
As per the last details from the Met Office, the maximum sustained speed of wind is around 140-150 kph. Biparjoy would further move northeastward, and by June 15, it would cross Keti Bandar & Indian Gujrat.
By June 14-16, heavy rain spells accompanied by dust & thunderstorms would occur in Karachi, Sanghar, Shaheed Benazirabad, Tando Allayar, Tando Muhammad Khan, and Hyderabad.
