DHAKA: After three days of persistent rains followed by very little play on the field, Day 4 had a lot of action in store for everyone. Pakistan started off the day with both batters Azhar Ali and Babar Azam resuming their innings from where they had left on the second day.
Bangladesh did not take long and quickly removed the two batters and at one stage threatened to swing the tempo of the game in their favour. But Fawad Alam and Mohammad Rizwan ensured that they did not only put on an unbeatable 103-run stand but also pushed Bangladesh against the wall.
As if that was not enough, salt was added to the injury when the Bangladeshi batters came out to bat. Their mindboggling tactics, combined with disciplined bowling and fielding by Pakistan, made sure that Bangladesh were left reeling at 76/7 by the time the Stumps were called.
Sajid Khan has picked up six wickets so far, giving away just 35 runs in the process. A solitary runout came via Hasan Ali, who was quick to react and removed the Bangladeshi captain Mominul Haque. Bangladesh still need 25 runs to avoid the follow-on.
