Actress Ayesha Omar recently talked to Gulf News about the importance of speaking on social issues and how she’s been vocal about topics like sexual harassment. She also explained why it took time for her to share personal experiences of harassment in the industry.
The actress who shot to fame with ‘Bulbulay‘ said it took 15 years for her to share her traumas because she gained the courage only after seeing others being vocal about it. She said many people don’t believe one’s story and blame the victim for the incident, portraying the victim as the accused.
She added that her goal was to be an inspiration to people and would continue to speak against rape, sexual harassment, domestic abuse and lack of education.
