In the latest development surrounding the legal saga concerning the late Dr Aamir Liaquat Hussain’s video leak case, arrest warrants have reportedly been issued for renowned Pakistani social media influencer Yasir Shami. The revelation emerged following disclosures made by Dr Bushra Iqbal, the former wife of Dr Aamir Liaquat Hussain, on social media platforms.
Dr Bushra, a central figure in the legal dispute involving Yasir Shami and Dr Aamir’s third wife, Dania Shah, shared copies of the non-bailable arrest warrants on her Instagram account, shedding light on the ongoing legal proceedings.
According to Bushra, the Court of Judicial Magistrate Karachi has issued a non-bailable warrant of arrest against Yasir Shami in the cybercrime obscene video leak case pertaining to the late Aamir Liaquat Hussain. The warrants highlight the severity of the charges and the legal gravity of the situation.
Expressing her sentiments in a detailed caption accompanying the post, Bushra underscored the significance of the court’s actions, expressing hopes for justice to prevail in due course. She emphasised the need for Yasir Shami’s apprehension by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to comply with the court’s directives and facilitate the legal process.
Earlier, Yasir Shami had surrendered himself before the Karachi City Courts amidst serious allegations regarding the dissemination of viral videos featuring the late Dr Aamir Liaquat. Despite being granted bail upon furnishing a Rs2.5 million surety bond, the court mandated his appearance before the FIA to provide his statement regarding the case.
This development follows a series of summonses issued to Yasir Shami due to his repeated non-appearance in court proceedings. Legal representatives have stressed the importance of his active participation in advancing the case, warning of potential arrest warrants for continued absence.
The legal battle surrounding the viral videos has involved several individuals, including Dr Aamir’s third wife, Dania, who is currently out on bail. Liaqat Gabol, representing Dania, emphasised Yasir Shami’s pivotal role in expediting the case’s progression and attributed delays to his actions.
