ISLAMABAD: Ten federal ministers were rewarded with appreciation certificates for good performance by Prime Minister Imran Khan here on Thursday. During the ceremony, the ministries scoring 80 per cent or more were given special mention.
The ministries that secured the top 10 positions included Ministry of Communications led by Murad Saeed, Ministry of Planning-Development & Special Initiatives led by Asad Umar, Ministry of Poverty Alleviation & Safety Division led by Dr Sania Nishtar, Ministry of Federal Education & Professional Training led by Shafqat Mahmood, Ministry Human Rights led by Dr Shireen Mazari, Ministry Industries & Production led by Khusro Bakhtiar, National Security Adviser led by Dr Moeed Yusuf, Ministry of Commerce led by Abdul Razak Dawood, Interior Ministry led by Sheikh Rashid, and Ministry National Food Security & Research led by Syed Fakhar Imam.
The prime minister also specifically applauded Murad Saeed for delivering top performance despite being the youngest among the ministers.
Mr Khan called the event a great opportunity for ministers as it would serve as a source of motivation for them to work even harder. He added that in future the criteria would be refined, and the appraisal would occur quarterly with awarding bonusses.
According to the statement issued by the Prime Minister Office, the performance is measured under “The Performance Agreement” which applies on all ministers. The agreement sets the goals and targets for each ministry.
Meanwhile, Vice President Pakistan Peoples Party Shery Rehman called the event a joke. She said that the government had not delivered good performance as their tenure was filled with mismanagements, failures and corruption. She added that every ministry of the current government was going through a crisis situation.
