Apple Inc has launched a new feature for the latest iPhone 14 series known as Lockdown Mode. The new protection feature will enhance security, especially against Pegasus and cyber espionage.
The Lockdown Mode has been released for iOS 16 and would be soon enabled for macOS Ventura and iPadOS 16. It reduces the potential attacks from websites, applications, spyware, and other features.
Some applications and operations will work differently when the mode is enabled. For example, some links and attachments on messages will be blocked. It will also not allow FaceTime call to the user with a person that it has not interacted with before. External USB connections and Configuration profiles will also be blocked.
To turn on the Lockdown Mode, a user has to:
Go to app Settings
Select Privacy and Security
You will see ‘Lockdown Mode’
Turn it On.
You will have to restart the device
