The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) has announced to hold the anti-inflation march to Islamabad on March 23. The PDM Chief Maulana Fazl ur Rehman confirmed the decision after a meeting of PDM heads on Tuesday.
While talking to the media, the PDM chief said that the march would begin after Zuhr prayers so that the military parade could be over by then. A session of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is also scheduled on Pakistan Day.
Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed had asked the PDM to reschedule the date due to the OIC summit and Pakistan Day.
The minister had pointed out that Islamabad might be sealed because of Pakistan Day activities. He said that the opposition alliance could keep the march four days after or before the Pakistan Day.
