ISLAMABAD: The world is once again on the brink of collapsing as the new variants of coronavirus have started spreading in China, India and the United States. However, Pakistan seems to have no preparation to combat the upcoming wave of coronavirus.
The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) has said that they were monitoring the situation, but there were no signs of testing, screening of inbound travellers at the airports, and imposing SOPS in crowded spots.
Dr Shahzad Ali Khan, member of NCOC, said that the department was doing regular meetings and forecasting the behaviour of new variants in Pakistan. He added that due to vaccination Pakistan had a better immunity level.
Dr Khan urged that those who were not vaccinated should get booster shots as the new variants could affect them. Experts suggest that since the virus can spread in any country, the NCOC should generate new guidelines.
