ISLAMABAD: The acting Higher Education Minister of Afghanistan Abdul Baqi Haqqani, along with an eight-member delegation, visited Pakistan on Monday to discuss the future collaborations of the two states on research and education.
The education minister was accompanied by Academic Affairs Deputy Minister Lotfullah Khairkhwa and Kabul University Chancellor Dr Osama Aziz.
The discussion emphasised the importance of reopening of higher education institutes for girls, as currently, only schools till sixth grade are operational under the Taliban regime.
The delegation also visited the Higher Education Commission where Director Shaista Sohail briefed it about the programmes and initiatives under the commission.
