KARACHI: On Thursday, renowned TV host and politician Dr Aamir Liaquat Hussain passed away in Karachi. He was taken to Aga Khan University Hospital upon being found unconscious. After being declared dead, the body was taken to Jinnah Medical Centre for post-mortem.
Hussain was born on July 5, 1971 and served as a television host and columnist along with his political activities. He completed his MBBS degree from Liaquat Medical College Jamshoro in 1995 and PhD from Trinity College & University on Islamic Studies.
Hussain became one of the most famous television names across the world, with his shows like Aalim Online, Inam Ghar and Ramzan transmissions. He had a prolific political career, serving as the Minister of Religious Affairs during Shaukat Aziz’s tenure. Later, he became a member of the National Assembly while representing Imran Khan in the 2018 elections.
