In a distressing incident, a 13-year-old boy was reportedly subjected to sexual assault during Aitkaf, a spiritual retreat, at a mosque located at Sanawan Bukhi Chowk in Muzaffargarh.
According to initial reports, the young boy, who was observing Aitkaf, fell victim to the alleged rape perpetrated by a fellow participant in the spiritual gathering.
The suspect, also engaged in Aitkaf, managed to flee the scene following the assault, while the Imam of the mosque claimed that the perpetrator had issued threats against him, compelling his silence.
The victim, who had been dedicating himself to memorizing the Holy Quran within the mosque premises, was subsequently transported to a hospital for a comprehensive medical examination to ascertain the extent of his injuries.
Speaking on the matter, Station House Officer Shahid Rizwan Mahota assured swift action, asserting that efforts were underway to apprehend the suspect promptly.
The incident has stirred widespread outrage and calls for justice within the community, with authorities urged to ensure the swift apprehension and prosecution of the perpetrator to deliver justice to the victim and prevent such heinous acts from recurring.
