In the backdrop of a successful operation against the terrorists in Bannu, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated that the nation would not bow down to terrorists and would deal with them with iron hands. The prime minister’s remarks were shared in a statement via Radio Pakistan.
Mr Sharif stressed the need for a national action plan, calling the matter a sensitive issue of national security. “The federal government will also address the external facilitation and hideouts of terrorists,” reads the statement.
He acknowledged and appreciated the efforts of the armed forces and assured that the sacrifices of the martyrs of the Pakistan Army won’t go in vain. He also said that the issue of the security and the law and order rest with the provincial governments of the respective provinces, however, the federal government could not ignore the overall security outlook.
